23 weeks old!
Colben has had a growth spurt big time. he now weighs 18lbs 8 oz and is 27 inches tall. This puts our boy who started out so tiny in the 70-90th percentile range. We are raising a giant!....for now
Getting ready for Colben's 1st Shaw Christmas Party

Waiting for Santa

Colben's present from Santa (photo with Santa was professionally done and will be given to us later

Yum fist

You want some?

Playing with his new non-educational toy which he LOVES

Colben's new boots- all ready for winter!

We went to the multiiples parent group children sale and got Colben a toy bar, and some socks and THANK GOD we found a size large baby wrap as he has out grown his

This is the knited blanket I`ve designed for myself

This is how far I`ve gotten in the last couple of days. I think this going to be one of those "only-once" kind of projects. Notice underneath a couple of pics we finally got a new rug to cover our awful carpet

Please be advised no babies were harmed in the making of this movie. We were lying on a foamy and Colben rolled on his own freewill.

22 weeks old! (5 months)
Wow I can't beleive Colben is already 5 months. Colben is biting and drooling everything in reach. He is still trying to roll over but he just can't get the last part of the twist right (his feet remain stationary while everyting else goes to the side). He is briefly sitting up (5-10sec) and is extremly vocal. He shrieks when is happy he shreiks when he is mad he shrieks when he is tired, he shreiks when is hungry.I should say shreiks and squeals. His nails grow at a speed unheard of to man and are sharp as razors. the other day he had 3 scrathes down the side of his face like Freddie Krueger or Wolverine and this is the day after I cut them.
Adam and I got the H1N1 vax and wow does it hurt the the second day. Why don't they tell you that! Colben won't have his until he is 6months and a 2nd dose 2 weeks later but at least we will know to give him a pain killer because it sucks.
For those thinking of Clothes for Christmas. Colben is now into 6 months clothes, size 2 shoes if you are thinking of getting the next size up- we love one piece rompers like the one below and sleepers in cotton. We just bought his Christmas day outfit- it is sooo cute.
Now not really sure for toys- stuff he can interact with and easily hold as of right now but his skill level changes every day. No more stuffed animals please- we have way too many! And we would prefer no cartoon character stuff (winnie the poo, Mickey Mouse etc)
On the boring pratical side he will need a high chair soon but like other gear I am a bit picky. I would rather get a really nice one used then a new one I don't love as it is going to be a part of our lives for many years and hopefully kids.
Please know whatever he receives he and we will be very grateful and don't overlook used items. Manhattan toys are his favorite and we always get them used and clean them because no one in their right mind would pay 20$ for a teething toy. We have no problem at all with used items.
Colben has already shown to be hooked on one tv show (what an addict). Any time we pass the show "the night Garden " he is enthralled. It is a BBC show somewhere along the line of teletubbies, not much speaking, more like sounds and songs, and british man narrates. It is in between creepy and interesting. Check it out on youtube.

happy birthday auntie Mikael!

21 weeks old!
Pee blanky is a success although I must say I have a new respect for quilters as what was to be a simple project turned into a nightmare curtosey of the plastic inner liner and my lack of planning. I did change the outer trim because I wasn't happy with the colour of the fabric.

Colben took to it right away and so did daddy

Soon Colben showed his appreciation by christening it with pee

Blair witch baby

Colben was pretty tired after the play, peeing and witching- it was a rough day.

Sewing Machine is here-just waiting for fabric
Yay- My birthday/Christmas present arrived. This is my new sewing machine

My first project will be a waterproof blanky for Colben to hang out naked and air out that diaper rash. This is what it will roughly look like:
After that I have fabric ordered to make a stroller seat cover. Here is the stroller and the fabric:

20 weeks old!
Colben thinks he is now a big boy and can hold his own bottle thank you very much!

Soon he will be as big as our awesome godson Ethan who just started kindergarten is waiting for his new baby brother

Below is mama's little helper (no not vodka martini)

This halloween Colben rudely interupted Pumpkin in the washroom causing a moment which will probably result in a lifetime of diapering and therapy

Ninjas live upstairs- although I'm not sure how good of ninjas they are as sometimes we can hear them ;o)

Colben handsome as he is, is becoming way too vain. He is always staring in the mirror fixing his 3 hairs. Oddly enough he never seems to notice the barf down his shirt

P.S. We're rich bitch- don't ask us for money

This has been a weekend of action. Mama finally got her learners....again but in BC. apparently I can road test today if I wanted to for time served in Alberta(I neglected to mention to them I have been behind a wheel exactly twice if you include once at the go-carts)
Did you know you are no longer allowed to smile in pictures- All this after I had 7 teeth removed so that I can smile properly. Artist recreation of expected license other than a yellow piece of paper below.

I also decided Colben was ready for a jolly jumper. If I could drive he could sure as hell bounce! No artistic recreation due to lack of photos probably because when we put him in it the first time he screamed like a banshee and we needed to figure out how to undo the 3 waist safety devices to get him out.
After my triumph at the DMV I was not discourage by a bit of crying, Colben was ready, ready for something new (We've given up on him rolling over)
Rice cereal it is! Victory is ours aand we are going to post as many pictures of him eating as we want.

All done

18 weeks old!
Well fall is upon us and we are gearing up.
Today we hit a super sale and bought Colben a wool and fleece one piece overall jacket for fall and warmer days and a one piece snowsuit for winter walks and our trip to Calgary. We realize the snowsuit might not be used a ton but we bought it a neutral colour for future kiddies. Here our some pics of our warm cutie and his new outfits.

On another note guess what? We didn't invent Colben's name! While looking through a list of Norwegian of boys names there lo and behold is Kolbein! So I guess we were true to his ancestry.
The word is out Auntie Diane and Uncle Jeff are having a boy. He will be born only 9 months apart from Colben and will either be best buddies or arch enemies!
